Shepherd's Cottage Guest Reviews back to Shepherd's Cottage
not everyone remembers to write in the guest book but here are the ones that did

Lovely cottage in a great area. Enjoyed the walks over to the ruins and small beach opposite. Our favourite restaurant was Am Birlinn near Calgary. Wildlife - good view of sea eagle at Loch Ba and good golden eagle sightings near Dervaig and Glen More. Otters by the ruins around the bay opposite and seals by the shipwrecks. Hen harriers along road to Dervaig and Grasspoint. See you again in the future.

This was our 6th year at Shepherd's Cottage. Had some nice walks at Langamull and Ardmore Point. 4 lovely sunny days and 2 days with non-stop rain - still enjoyed our stay although a little less than usual. Good meals at MacGoghans in Tobermory and Salen Hotel. Good fish and chips from van in Tobermory

We've had a fabulous week at Shepherd's Cottage - what a find! Always a joy to come back to at the end of an action packed day. There has been plenty of rain this week but mostly at night so we've hardly had our waterproofs on. Can definitely recommend a boat trip to Staffa - a geological marvel which exceeded our expectations! Another highlight was a scramble over rock to get to MacKinnon's Cave. Take a torch to explore the furthest reaches. We enjoyed the ealk from the cottage up to the Iron Age fort. Great views for not too much effort. Hope you enjoy your week as much as we did!

Lovely cottage! Such wonderful views. My daughter thought we should live here (me too!). My girls are 5yrs and 7yrs so we did things with them in mind. The Mull Aquarium is good and the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust was also a great place to go with good children's talks. Calgary Bay was wonderful especialyy the first day (Sunday), the sun shone and the kids played happily in the rock pools for ages. We did a whale watching tour with 'Whale Watching With Us' - Richard the guide was great and very informative. We saw 2 eagles, 2 minke whales, harbour porpoises and seals. Unfortunatrely no dolphins but we will have to come back again. We only ate out at the Pier Café but the fish and chips were really good and it had a good children's selection. Overall a lovely stay, thank you!

Very enjoyable week on the island. Cottage very comfortable in a central location ideal for exploring both north Mull and the Ross of Mull. Fantastic walks with the best being the Treshnish and whisky cave, Ben More, Aros Park, Loch Buie, the local coast to coast and the Isle of Ulva. Staffa is worth a visit but very busy, Iona and Ulva also worth exploring as well as the excellent beaches on the Ross of Mull. Overall, excellent walks, good food, fantastic scenery and very relaxing

Great location, peaceful, relaxing, beautiful scenery. Cottage could do with more crockery and glasses and a bit of TLC required but overall we loved it

A lovely restful week with mixed weather, but lovely evenings and a couple of sunny days. Short eared owls and hen harriers over at Glen More early evening. Sea eagles over Salen Bay.

Amazing weather all week - 1st time on Mull and what an amazing place - every corner brings stunning scenery - too many to mention, just get in the car and enjoy! Calgary Bay at sunset and Ulva a must, even just for the café. Really great food at Am Birlinn.

Have had a magnificent time on the Isle of Mull. We have seen spectacular wildlife - glimpses of golden eagles, sea eagles and otters. Had a great couple of times at Calgary Beach. An amazing spot to paddle in the sea, the water is a truly lovely colour. Shepherd's Cottage is a warm, welcoming place, especially the sweet sheep and lambs in the field and garden. Hope to come back again soon.

Another wonderful week in Shepherd's Cottage. Weather not as good as past years but even that did not stop us enjoying our 6th visit to Mull. 12th April was Dave's 64th birthday - 13th April my daughter Vicky got engaged to James, what a memorable couple of days - 14th April we had a wonderful night spent at the Salen Hotel, great food and a wonderful Scottish song sung to Vicky and James by some of the locals to celebrate their engagement. Never to be forgotten, we will be back.

Loved it! Great place to visit the island - fantastic views and sheep and lambs. Cottage had everything we needed and Kennedy's at Salen were very friendly and helpful when our exhaust pipe fell off! Thanks Andrew, too for your help with the heating...all with a smile!

Lovely short break, cracking cottage with beautiful scenery. Wildlife on Mull is fantastic, we have seen seals and wild goats at Carsaig and otters on the way to Fionnphort. Calgary Beach is stunning, well worth the visit. managed to fit lots in our short break and will be back again. Many thanks!

We have had a lovely time at Shepherd's Cottage. The highlights of the week were watching a sea otter hunt and play in Loch Na Keal, observing a pair of golden eagles and playing on the beach at Calgary. Our favourite walk was around Loch Buie.
