Dalmaclare is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location, any problems seen to right away by caretaker.

May 11th 2018

Dalmaclare is 50 minutes from Tobermory. The ocean drives are incredible as well as inland. We are a few minutes from Ulva Ferry and trips to Staffa. The Boathouse on Ulva offers fresh seafood and an ancient atmosphere accessible only by a two minute ferry ride. The Ballygown Restaurant and the Hen House Bakery are a short walk away. They both offer fresh locally made food. After being here a week we have been able to see and experience most of the island. Long haired cattle, sheep and lambs surround the cottage. Waterfalls flow behind us and ocean in front. Dalmaclare is a quaint stone home and quite comfortable. It feels like a grandmothers home and offers a lot of sleeping space. We have been a bit chilly as the mechanics of the home seem mysterious. The furnace seems to run on its own volition. If you are traveling from afar be aware that towels come to you at a cost and are not included as part of your rent. Those are our only complaints, it truly is a perfect location with perfect landscape and a panorama I will never forget.

This is a charming old stone-built farmhouse
in a picturesque setting with lovely seascape
views to the island of Ulva. Located on the
"quiet side" of the island approximately 12 miles equidistant from the villages of Salen and Dervaig.

It lies within two hundred yards of the sea shore
beyond a single track public road and fields.
Well appointed in simple farmhouse style, this is an ideal base for exploring this ruggedly beautiful
region of one of Scotland's most scenic islands.
