Second time staying at Otter house, excellent accommodation with amazing views.
We were lucky enough to have the deer come visit in the garden.
Mull is a gorgeous island with plenty of things to do, Elise enjoyed her trip to the beach at Calgary bay. All in all a fantastic family holiday making precious memories.
Thank you xx

We came a long long way, but it was worth every mile because when we saw this place it really made us smile. We came down the track, what a lovely surprise, three deer were in the garden we couldn’t believe our eyes!
Callum was the first to open the door he was so overwhelmed he fell on the floor. Leah brought us all a gift when we went to Tobermory, it was Lifeboat day as well but that’s another story !
We went for a ride and came to Calgary bay, what a fantastic beach, what a fantastic day. We drove down to Carsaig and saw highland coos grazing ! We went pony trekking and saw eagles in the sky.
5th August Mason Family, Edinburgh
The house was fantastic for us really well equipped, clean & great layout. The views are gorgeous. The girls loved going to The Screen Machine (mobile cinema), Kayaking on Lochdon and boat trips on the sound were highlights. Also loved Duart castle & Tobermory bakery and coffee shop. We will definitely come again and would love to stay in Otter house . Big thumbs up !!

Has a lovely time Weather 50/50 but still managed to see plenty of wildlife. Deer in garden most nights. Watching eagles yesterday at Calgary Bay - in the sunshine! Perfect end to the holiday.
23rd July - 6th Aug 16 Griffiths Family Wales
Otter House has been very comfortable and we’ve enjoyed the views over the sound and the deer which we have seen a few times. We have Had some amazing days out helped by beautiful sunny weather - our favorites have been Iona, Ardnamurchan lighthouse and Ulva. We also had some awful weather and extremely wet boat trip to Staffa but it was worth it to see the amazing Puffins on Lunga ( a brilliant photo oppurtinity). Over all a great two weeks during which we’ve really enjoyed getting to know Mull. Ps On our last evening at low tide, I went down to the shore here and spotted an Otter. Watching it swimming and eating shellfish for 20 minutes or so. Amazing !

As per usual each time this nplace becomes more magical, from the deer in the garden to the Dolphins playing by the side of Duart Castle, the spectacular scenery, just a step back from the hustle and bustle of our normal lives.
Really enjoyed the Highland Games, we will definitely return to this piece of paradise. To the people who follow us I genuialy hope you have as much fun as we did! Sorry the whole family say try - staffa Tours ( Puffins, fingal caves), Calgary Beach - Tobermory - Duart Castle - these are awesome.

A fantastic week. Our first time on Mull and the sun managed to shine a few days of our stay. The rain didn’t stop us. Otter house was a great plave to come back to each day. The deer visited a couple of times to the garden and so did the rabbits. Just the break we needed from the hustle & bustle of Glasgow. I’m sure we’ll be back to Mull very soon.
2nd July 16 The Robertson Family Fife
Had a great week. Had a great trip out to Staffa with Turus Mara, who were so helpful, saw the deer at the bottom of the garden most days. Had some lovely lunches at the Isle of Mull cheese co. and at the Boathouse on Ulva. A lovely relaxing stay.
11th June 16 Rob & Kirsty Edinburgh
Had a fantastic week, weather not so good but it didn’t stop us going all round the Island. Highly recommend Sealife surveys Whale watching trip. No whales spotted but saw sea eagles, porpoises & a pod of dolphins circling the boat playing in the wake, wonderful to see. Beautiful beaches on Iona - even saw an Otter strolling by ! Sad to be heading home but plan to come back again.

Had a brilliant week here at Otter House and we have loved the Isle of Mull.. the house was perfect for us and we enjoyed sitting out in the garden every evening with that amazing view ! Highlights have definitely been Tobermory, a trip to Iona ( beautiful views) and a trip to Calgary Bay. So lucky to have scorching sunshine every single day making it a perfect holiday. Seen deer (in the back garden) highland cows, eagles - just missing the otters!
thank you for a brilliant stay - we are already deciding a date for our return trip.
30th April 16 Nigel & June Lancs
Our 4th stay at Otter House. Windy all week but plenty of sunshine & a few showers. Excellent trip with Sealife Surveys ( saw Minke whale , landed on Coll) and Turus Mara ( landed on Lunga - puffins, sea birds - dramatic waves at Fingals cave) . Bird watching highlights - sea eagles, golden eagles, hen harriers, great northern divers.

Our 6th time here and as always an amazing time. I love the house and the Island, so relaxing and peaceful, stupendous on scenery and wonderful wildlife. We have been ss lucky this time with Otter spots, Golden Eagles, Sea Eagles, porpoises, deer - Red & Fallow. Weather been great for October & fabulous colours.
17th October 15 The Helen, David, Ben & Sara - Lancs
A lovely week, in a fabulous house. A beautiful spot on a beautiful Island. The scenery is bearthtaking and the light changes constantly. We’ve seen otters, deer, buzzards and (we think) Golden eagles. Just not managed to catch an eagle in the camera lens.
Look out for deer in the garden in the early morning & later afternoon - we even had a Stag at the front door! Will really miss sitting watching the dawn over the sound & the fishing boats & ferries in the early misty mornings. We just have to come back.

When we first got here we fell in love with all the rooms. We loved the sight out of the window. Unfortunately we didn’t see any Otters or stags from here but we did see kittens and rabbits ( which were adorable) . the weather was amazing except for Friday afternnon. The wi-fi connection was good which we were surprised about. We loved how near Otter House was to Tobermory, where we spent a lot of time at. Also we loved how much space the house had ( inside & out). Nearly every evening we could see ferries travelling up & down the sea. The people in Mull were really friendly which made our holiday even better. Thank you for this lovely house and we hope to be returning. We will be sad to leave tomorrow ( written by the family’s wee girl)

We had a lovely time in Mull for the second time. Last year we stayed in Stag House next door and it was just as good last year. The food I would recommend would definitely be MacGochans, which is in the carpark of Tobermory, great food, great service. Another place which had nice food was the Galleon Grill however we thought the service was awful.
We have had an adventurous holiday, doing things like climbing Ben More (with amazing hills and fantastic views. Yesterday we went for a bike ride to Glengorm where we saw lovely views, an incredible castle, fun hills and we stopped off at a lovely tearoom. We have seen all kinds of splendid wildlife like otters, deers, horses, hedgehogs rabbits. ( written by the kids)

The nine of us had a really fab time here at Otter House. “Steve” the Stag appeared at the bottom of the garden each day to accompany the rabbits, sheep, goats , birds of prey etc.The house is perfect. A super kitchen, comfy beds, utility/boot room ideal for returning from the hill walking, exploring and sailing. We will be back and we will highly recommend to all our friends, thank you

Came prepared for cold, probably wet weather , but have been enjoying beautiful, sunny, warm week with clear blue skies. Lovely , especially because it was unexpected. The house was just perfect in every way. Light, spacious and airy, and wonderfully clean and equipped with everything we could possibly need for our stay.
Mull itself is a wonderful place. We have done all (some of) the recommended visits and thoroughly enjoyed tham all - Tobermory. Calgary, Ulva , Glengorm etc the highlight has to be Staffa and the Treshnish Isles with Turus Mara. The puffinson Lunga were enchanting and more than worth the rather rough sea crossing( we chose a very windy day)
All in all a lovely week. We will miss Mull and we will miss Otter House. Thank you for the chance to stay and for providing a homely environment for all of us.
PS. Went down the garden to the shore on Friday evening and saw 2 otters. A prefect end to the holiday.

Enjoyed a very relaxing week in Otter House. Would love to come back as the scenery is stunning and really enjoyed spotting all the wildlife.
Enjoyed a lovely meal at Café fish and had a great day out with “Enjoy Mull” Wildlife Tours. Although the Otter eluded us all week , we were not disappointed with the bird life or deer in the garden. Accommadation very comfortable . A very enjoyable week and look forward to a return visit to Mull. Thank you.

Otter House is a great place to stay, we’ve had a brilliant holiday here again, but the weather has been pretty awful!
We’ve seen it all !! Otters at Fishnish, Golden Eagles ( and Buzzards!) all over the Island. White Tailed Eagles at the nesting site and watching there for about an hour on Loch Na Keal. Red deer in the garden every day and evening, also many gannets diving watching from the window in the lounge. Recommend a visit to the stunning Loch Buie - even in the rain !

What a delight staying here at Otter House has been and how we will miss the view, the deer and rabbits ( no otters). Thank you Lynne for leaving it so spotless for us, for the wine and biscuits and the prompt renewal of the DVD.
always stay with us, we were blessed with a beautiful day of weather. The trip to Ulva was less successful, as we didn’t read your notes and realise it was closed Saturdays ( the ferry) so webt over today ( Friday) only to find a note of apology as they had all gone to a family wedding, a good reason to visit Mull again, not that we need any persuading and hope to be back.
The Glengorm Coffee Shop is lovely as are the walks on the coast there and we loved Langamull beach and coastline.
The doctor was loveliness itself when Bob needed to visit her, what a shame she is leaving. We had a couple of days of forced relaxation, where we had to stay in the house and were happy to do so in such lovely surrolyundings. We have been quite lucky with the weather, not too much rain and more sun. thank you again.

We have has a lovely time here, relaxing and visiting all our favourite places on the Island. Otter House is an excellent base and has everything that you need. It really has been a pleasure and a privilege to stay here.
The weather has been amazinf for april. Everything looks so much nicer with the sun shining on it. We has one brief sighting of the otter down by the sea at dusk and the deer were never far away. Seen lots of eagles and buzzards and had great views of 2 pairs of hen harriers near Loch Spelve. We have really enjoyed the local seafood from Ardmore in Salen. They are not always open but Wednesday mornings is usually a good time, also the Scallops and chips from the pier at Tobermory are delicious. Thank you.

Spent a lovely week here on Mull, did a few walks in the countryside and round about. Calgary Beach is delightful. A family of Red Deer frequented the garden and there should be an Otter on the beach but you need to get the tide right to see them. Lots of Golden Eagles around , keep your eyes open whilst driving

Lost first few days of holiday to the last gasps of hurricane Bertha. The holiday & Mull came alive once the rain stopped. Highlights have been this cottage ! Great seafood and amazing wildlife. Watching a family os Sea eagles soaring will stay with me for a long time and the Red Deer in the garden are stunning for my city raised children. If we return to Mull, Otters and a basking shark will be the top of our list. Thank you.

A fantastic week began with sketching deer in the garden at 5.30am. Another great week in this great house on this wonderful Island. Wildlife more elusive than previous visits ( .. more protective staying close to nests) but all more exciting hen they appeared. Red Deer, golden & sea eagles, buzzards, great northern divers, lots of wheatear, some stone chats. Not forgetting the guillemoys, casarbills, shags and incredible puffins at Lunga. ( artists love it as much as photographers here !) - saw a porpoise too.
Ate some great food - particularly the oysters at Ulva ( served straight from the boat). Glenforsa Hotel bar meals good value. - Fish on the pier exceptional but let down by chips. The oldest Inn at Dervaig ( Bellachroy) a big disappointment - over priced - basically a £12 meal cost nearly £20 ( risotto !) served in the bar that was a shabby caravan type bar- and only average quality.
We have had a brilliant week- topped off yesterday with a trip to the amazing Lochbuie. On way we watched the otter playing on the rocks for ages ( eating, rolling then setting down to sleep) and a big herd of deer at Grasspoint in the evening.
Can we stay another wee please ? Will you tell work?

Our holiday has been wonderful, but definitely not long enough ! Not looking forward to returning to the motorways and the noise of living near Gatwick airport. The wildlife sightings this last to weeks has been amazing for us, we cant believe we have seen all that we hoped we would see.
In and around the immediate garden we have seen : red deer, bats, barn owl, wheatears, stone chats. Sea eagle and curlews.
Sea Eagles ( several) at Loch Na Keal. Dolphins at Loch Tuath, Hobby at Fidden, Dipper in river by bridge at Salen. Golden Eagles all over the island , many seen on road from Salen to Dervaig.
We have also seen Otters in Salen Bay, porpoise, hen harriers, hare, great northern divers , gannets and so many other bird species.
The highlight of our stay was the trip with Staffa tours to Lunga Island - it as absolutely magical to be so close up to the Puffins - they are a photographers dream !! Would recommend this to everyone. We hope to return to this lovely house and beautiful island.

WOW ! We have had a fantastic time on Mull. Otter house is lovely, beautiful location & was very spacious for the five of us and lots of camera equipment. We can recommend Mull charters to see Sea Eagles - we had 2 trips with Martin the skipper & saw the eagles both times. Got fantastic photo’s as they swooped down into the water for fish !! Saw otters at Pennyghael( by electric station/post office). The road(well a track) to Croggan had Oyster catchers & chicks, sandpipers, lttle ringed plover and many more birds- worth a visit…Just drive round the whole island if you can - the views are spectacular & the lochs are all different. Basically everywhere you go it is wonderful. Great island, great people, great house. Thank you

We loved Otter House, perfect for sharing with our friends “the Jones’s”. Weather was very kind to us and had 2 glorious days at Langamull & Calgary Beach .The cycling (road bikes) was enjoyed by all as were all the fantastic views. We even managed to squeeze an extra night onto our holiday and took a day out to the beautiful Iona. Its our third visit to Mull but won’t be our last and Otter house is a great find

The sea eagle site nr Loch Scridain worth a visit……..ps. if you are lucky you might see a local Barn owl at dust/late.

What a great place to spend a relaxing week on Mull. The house is perfect in every details . but did have to share garden with sheep who appear to have taken up residence. …
Weather mixed but so much warmer than we,ve had on the East coast this winter and on Monday had alovely day out on Iona, Friday turned out sunny & warm aginn so headed for Ulva. Whay a gem of a place we had it almost to ourselves, its well worth a visit & the Boathouse tearoom is excellent and so reasonable. We thought the wildlife had taken the same weeks holiday as us but today we,ve seen heron, deer, lots of geese and sea eagle en route - but otters are playing hard to get. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with its fantastic views.

Otter House is well equipped with great views. We had many visitors during our stay, including our in laws !!! The stag with his harem was impressive, although not at 3am in the morning. Mull is a beautiful island but the secret treasure is the island of Iona. The beaches there are spectacular overlooking the Atlantic, and the whisky isn't bad too! Although we understand the Iona whisky is no longer available- what a shame ! Jacob lover Balamory/Tobermory, especially the boats and the Balamory shop , where his gran bought him a spider that has kept him entertained in all the restaurants and pubs! We had a great day at Calgary Bay, where we had a picnic and a walk to the forest viewpoint. The oldest inn in Dervaig is a little gem too, serving lovely wine and food. Jacob really enjoyed himself , especially the dungeons@ Duart Castle and wants to come back next week instead of going to nursery !!The walks around Glengorm Castle are a must too, the Castle also has a lovely tearoom All in all a fabulous house in a fabulous location . We will be back !!!

First time on Mull & definitely not be the last Otter House is superb. Plenty of wildlife action without leaving the house. We did see otter down by the beach, if you have patience !! Stag was quite noisy & elusive but managed to find his hiding place, eventually !! Loads of walking done etc etc. Only ate out once at restaurant on main road to Dervaig , it was really nice and friendly. Food excellent . Really hope to come back here as a week is not long enough to do everything we wanted .

Were here before in August 09 - but brought my mum this time and boy we were not disappointed. Weather was variable with heavy rain and then bright sunshine but it did not spoil the holiday . You just unwind from the rat race you were in and begin to enjoy the simple pleasures and charms this island has to offer . Just walk out of the garden over the stile and follow the path down to the sea you may just get a glimpse of an otter if not then watch the herons fish .At night we usually had the pheasant family in the garden followed by the deer paying us a visit and the rabbits to finish Places to visit about an hour and a half travel through breathtaking scenery to Iona jump on the little ferry and onto a tranquil island . Beaches are golden around the island . Aros waterfall inspiring , decent walk up the side but worth it . Ate out at Mediterranean in Salen and Galleon Grill in Tobermory , both very nice but not cheap. Lads enjoyed the sea fishing catching mackerel, Pollock and sea trout Fished several spots but found Duart Castle the best . Mum and Lynda enjoyed shopping in Tobermory and you must get a glimpse of the Ginger Cat !! One cool cat ! Hope to return again - Slice of Heaven .
