14th April 2018    Ray & Anna Hayes

We love Mull and always look forward to our holidays there – so much to see and do.

Re Cliff Tops, again, we love it there. So much space for us, bright and airy, lovely views over Dervaig. Wilf and Maggie (and Nicky the dog) are always pleased to see us and we see them as ‘friends’ now. So, all in all, all positive.

Our friends, John and Cath, are returning in the summer for a month (and Anna and I will pop in to see them) and we have already booked two weeks for next Easter. The only ‘concern’ we have is if Wilf ever sells or moves into Cliff Tops…. What will we do??

Lovely quality house in fabulous location, and just 45 minutes from Craignure ferry. Stunning views, and 5 minute walk to friendly village store / Post Office, and nice pub with great food. 20 minute drive either way to Tobermory or Calgary beach. Recommended 100%

Great weather, great walks,  views from trig point at Calliach Point are stunning and only half an hours walk. Turn right just befor Calgary, park at the end and head for the point. Cycling round Loch na Keal also great (flat for 10 miles ) and a wonderful house and hosts.

Have had a superb week, the house is luxurious and caters for every need. This end of Mull is spectacular, peace, quiet and beauty round every corner. I will not tell of all the great places we visited as you should do what we did, just set off and explore. Wilf and Maggie have a wealth of knowledge having been here many decades_ they were the perfect hosts. We will definitely return. Thank you Wilf and Maggie for all the kindness when we arrived with nowhere to stay. We will be back next year. Not sure we will get the hot sunny weather like we had for the last 2 weeks

“We’ve been coming to Mull every year or so for 40 years.   Clifftops is the best holiday home we’ve ever been in!   Everything about it is thoughtful, organised, enjoyable & welcoming.   Favourites:  the beautiful position, lovely but comfy decor & furnishings, fabulous bathrooms/ensuite with plumbing to match!   The best beds ever and the superb windows leading onto the patios.
Thank you Wilf & Maggie for creating such a gem.   Mull itself wild & beautiful as ever.   Walk round Loch Don awesome.   Calgary Bay, Criog & Glengorm as lovely as ever.  Have seen deer in the village river and the sea eagle over the loch twice.   Great village store.  P.S.  We’ve nicknamed Nick the footballing dog Pele, she is a delight!”

“We regularly visit the Isle of Mull and this is the best place we have stayed in!   The location is fabulous for beaches, walks, wildlife and Tobermory.   Views of the white tailed eagle from the bedroom window was one highlight... as was getting to Calgary Bay to watch otters at dawn.   The house has been just delightful.   Huge thank you to our hosts, Maggie and Wilf.”

“Lovely stay in a beautiful house.   Who could wish for a better view to do the dishes to.   A very high standard of furnishing throughout with an en-suite shower to die for!   Some beautiful walks on the island to try out while looking for geocaches (geocaching.com) to add to the views a bit of mystery.   Foodstop of the week has to be the local food caravan on the shore near Killiechronan campsite.   Thanks very much for a lovely stay.”

We’ve had a fantastic time.  Wilf & Maggie could not have been more welcoming or helpful.   The property is beautiful & comfortable – incredibly well appointed, and we’ve been so comfortable.   The weather has been amazing, and sometimes too hot.   Look out over the loch, high up, and you’ll see sea eagles.   Have seen them almost daily.   Food at the Bellachroy in Dervaig is excellent.   Iona a long drive – go the Salen, Craignure road.   Takes about 90 minutes – but worth the visit.   We had our own deserted beach!   About 2 miles west of the junction near Knock, you can swim in a mountain pool.   Can see it from the road at the small bridge.  Blissful.   Lip na Cloiche garden at Ulva Ferry beautiful & eccentric.

“Thank you so much for your hospitality & the care you have put into building & preparing this property.   It is of an extremely high standard – luxury standard – extra special mention for the beds, bed-linen, towels, crockery.   So much better quality than one expects in a holiday rental forget extra special range cooker.   In fact, everything about this property is Special.   Your guests are lucky that you have taken so much trouble to make them comfortable.”
“Can’t beat all the mod cons & then some.”
“Superb accommodation.  Great place to stay & what a view.”

“Dave, Sally, Ben & Sam.   May 2014.   We have had an excellent holiday, we don’t want to leave.   The house has been superb especially the showers and comfy beds!   We had a lovely week with the weather and seen our first wild otters and a sea eagle.   Trip to Staffa and Treshnish Isles with Turus Mara was superb.   Shop in the village was brilliant.   Superb crabbing opportunities at Croig Harbour kept our boys very happy.   Also interesting little museum in Tobermory on the High Street.   Look out for the famous Tobermory Cat.   We will be back.   Many thanks to Wilf & Maggie for making us so welcome.”
